Kick-off at 17:30 UK/ 18:30 CET
Venue: Old Trafford.

Manchester United begin their Premier League campaign on Saturday afternoon by welcoming Crystal Palace to Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have a delayed start to the season thanks to their Europa League exploits last month, while their opponents this weekend already have one league game under their belts.

Roy Hodgson’s side recorded a 1-0 victory against Southampton last week and will be looking for another success away to United after winning 2-1 there last season.

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace: Head-to-head (h2h)

  • The Devils recorded 20 of the previous 21 overall wins.
  • The last time these two locked horns, Solskjaer’s men registered a 0-2 win away from home. And this game had taken place just a month before.
  • They had scored two or more goals in six of the former eight clashes.
  • The guests had failed to score in 12 of their preceding 15 visits to this venue.

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace: Prediction

Despite missing a whole host of players, Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace pulled off an excellent win over Southampton last week as they kept a clean sheet and Wilfred Zaha grabbed the winner. They now face a tough test as they travel up north to face Man Utd. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men did not have a match last week after they were given an extra week of rest due to their European exploits in August but will be raring to go here. They have already seen other rivals get wins under their belt and they will be hungry to get an opening win. Palace are never easy to break down but they are missing some key players and Bruno Fernandes, Rashford and Martial should have too much quality and ultimately break them down. It may take some time, but expect United to ease to victory in the second half.
