Newcastle United Team News, Updates and Facts
Newcastle Team News
Steve Bruce continues to deal with a ridiculously large list of injuries at the moment. Defenders Javi Manquillo and Paul Dummett, midfielder Jack Colback, and striker Dwight Gayle, who could be on the move soon anyway, are definitely ruled out. Others that are doubts include defenders DeAndre Yedlin and Fabian Schar, midfielders Allan Saint-Maximin and Ki Sung-Yeung, and striker Yoshi Muto.
Newcastle Key Man
It took him quite a while to finally get on the score sheet, but now that he has, it doesn’t look like Miguel Almiron wants to stop. The former Atlanta United man scored on Tuesday in the FA Cup to make it three games in a row with one and four goals in his last six in all comps, not too bad at all. Joelinton also will come into this match, you’d think, with renewed vigor. He might have ‘only’ scored against Rochdale on Tuesday, but the fact he put one into the net is massive and could spur him on further.
Newcastle Team Form
Newcastle have a win, two draws, and two losses in their last five matches:
4-1 home win vs Rochdale (FA Cup)
1-1 draw at Wolves
1-1 draw at Rochdale (FA Cup)
0-3 home loss vs Leicester
1-2 home loss vs Everton
Newcastle Predicted Starting Line up
Expected Line up: 5-4-1
Newcastle United likely XI
- Defenders:Hayden, Fernandez, Clark, Lejuene, Willems
- Midfielders:Ritchie, Sean Longstaff, Matt Longstaff, Almiron
Chelsea Team News, Updates and Facts
Chelsea Team News
Frank Lampard will definitely be missing the likes of midfielders Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Marco van Ginkel here. Left back Marcos Alonso and central midfielder N’Golo Kante are possibilities but are not guarantees to feature.
Chelsea Key Man
The last time Chelsea won on this ground, in August of 2018, it was inspired by Eden Hazard. This time, they will need a different man to lead the charge. It could be fellow winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is kicking into gear now. He scored against Burnley last weekend, adding to a big goal he had scored in the FA Cup prior to it as well. In the middle, they will have the ever so dangerous Tammy Abraham roaming the center. He’s already bundled home 13 thus far, making him one of the division’s most prolific threats in front of goal.
Chelsea Team Form
Chelsea have three wins, a draw, and a loss in their last five matches:
3-0 home win vs Burnley
2-0 home win vs Nottingham Forest (FA Cup)
1-1 draw at Brighton
1-2 win at Arsenal
0-2 home loss vs Southampton
Chelsea Predicted Starting Line up
Expected Line up: 4-3-3
Chelsea likely XI
- Defenders:James, Christensen, Rudiger, Azpilicueta
- Midfielders:Barkley, Jorginho, Mount
- Forwards:Hudson-Odoi, Abraham, Willian
